When should I bring my child for their first dental visit?
Our recommendation is for you to bring your little one to see us within six months of the time the first baby tooth appears. An early start with their dental care will help to ensure a lifetime of healthy teeth.
You may be a little worried about the way your child will respond to their first visit. Dr. Richard Keech understands how to relate to kids on their own level and knows how to help them feel safe and secure during dental visits.
The goal of the first few visits isn’t to do any dental work, except possibly a light cleaning if the child’s receptive. The purpose of these visits is to do whatever it takes to show them that visits to the dentist can be fun! When we know they’re comfortable with us, we’ll start to do some more thorough checkups to see how their teeth are developing.
Early visits allow us to spot problems while they are still easy to fix. If your child needs a filling, Dr. Keech knows how to do the procedure quickly and usually without the need for any shots.
We would love to get to know your child, so please call our Fayetteville dental office, and we’ll be happy to arrange an appointment for that all-important first visit!
